Heaven by day and hell by night, Revelation Pass is an enigma. Ruled by a mercurial preacher and his hardcases, the town endures a monthly lottery that sacrifices young women to a mysterious fate.

When former manhunter Jim Hannigan is hired to find a runaway daughter he expects a quick mission with minimum risk – until he discovers the girl swinging from a cottonwood at the town's entrance.

Now, buried secrets and hidden motives threaten to embroil Hannigan in the most deadly case of his career.

My Opinion

All this book was missing was the obligatory Western soundtrack. Written in such a clear style that you could see it acted out in front of you, this book has all the ingredients of a good western. That said, it was obviously part of an ongoing saga, and things were alluded to that happened in earlier books, so starting at the beginning with this author would probably be more satisfying than jumping straight into this tale.

There is emotion, but it's dealt with in typical cowboy fashion so it fits well with the overall tone of the book, and the hero remains a smouldering silent type.

A quick, enjoyable read that stood on it's own okay, but would definitely be more interesting if I knew the background of both Hannigan and Tootie.
